First the update.
Kaitlyn went into surgery this morning at 7:30. She was happy, and a little hungry. She was sleeping when they took her back. We received a couple updates throughout the surgery. The last one was from Dr. Ohye himself. She's out of surgery. He said she did well. She had a little trouble coming off bypass but now is doing great. They are waiting for her bed to get ready. We can see her in about an hour and a half. They also did an echo right in surgery to look at her valve repair (this was the most important part of surgery). They said it appears there is zero leakage which is better then the average healthy heart. We are thrilled! Praise God! I will continue to post throughout her recovery. Thank you for all the support and prayers!
Now it's time for pictures of my little hero. These are from the couple days before surgery and her pre op testing.
Happy Baby!
happy all went well. sending prayers and good thoughts
ReplyDeleteOh such wonderful WONDERFUL NEWS!!!
ReplyDeleteKaitlyn, you rest and get your strength back okay? I think mom and dad need their rest too -- because in a month or so, they won't believe the difference in your energy!!!♥
Jenee, I am so very happy that all went well. Your baby girl is SO beautiful -- the pictures are great!
In time, the scar will heal and although it won't completely fade away, you'll see it less and less. I promise. I, too, took pictures of Gabe's chest pre-surgery "just because".♥
Praise the Lord!! So glad to hear that everything went well.

ReplyDeleteThat is great news. I am so glad to hear that things went so well. We are praying for you mom also. We took lots of pictures before Elijah had surgey and while in PICU. He did't have heart surgey, he had problems with his airway and lungs. We were affaid he was going to have a trach so we even had a video cam to record sounds, because I just could not stand not thought at that time of not hearing the sweet sounds anymore. Lucky he made it without. Elijah was in PICU at 4 weeks old with alot of the tubes. It looks scary, but it is all ok becasue you know it is making them better. He is my hero. These little miracles are so strong and so amazing what they go though. Before long she will be running around like nothing happend. I remeber the chest X-rays. We did many. Except down here they stap them in a tube also.
ReplyDeleteOh that was horrible to see her strapped to that wall thing. Poor baby!! We are praying for a quick and speedy recovery. Your in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that everything went well and that the valve repair went good. That's excellent that there is no leakage. Praying for a speedy recovery now. Sounds like you are in excellent care. Oh my gosh that x ray machine is crazy. My husband was in with my son when he had it done, so I had no idea what it looked like. Yikes. Thinking of you guys.
