Kaitlyn's Baby Treadmill

Last week, after much anticipation, Kaitlyn's treadmill arrived.
Kaitlyn will be using it 8 minutes a day, in 1 minute intervals, 5 days a week.
A study was done at the University of Michigan lead by Dr. Dale Ulrich. What they found is that infant/toddlers with Down syndrome, who would typically walk at an average of 24-28 months of age, walk sooner when exposed to treadmill therapy. Most kiddos who routinely use the treadmill walk between 18 1/2-19 1/2 months old.
The study is done, but because of further funding they are able to allow other children with Ds to use the treadmills. So we will see! We are excited for this opportunity. Kaitlyn already is stepping. I will update on her progress. Below is a video telling about the training along with a few pictures of Kaitlyn and Dr. Ulrich. If you have any questions please let me know!
